Traditions of Omsk region and Kazakhstan in the context of intercultural communication

The course is addressed to teachers of literature, as well as those interested in folklore and literature of the Omsk Irtysh region.

Our goal is to show what plots, images, and motifs determined the uniqueness of regional literature in the 19th and 20th centuries, how the Omsk region, a border area, developed an intercultural dialogue between Russian writers and Kazakh authors.

On the course page you will find video lectures, their transcripts, applications with texts of Siberian fairy tales, and assignments for your students. If you want to receive a certificate of completion of the course, you will need to pass a test.
